The Department of Education’s new Director of the Office of School Bus Safety\, James Scaringelli\, and the Special Education Ombudsman\, Cynthia Hoenes-Saindon\, would like to hear from individuals with disabilities and their families about their experiences\, concerns and recommendations with school transportation for students for disabilities.\n\nListening Sessions:\nMonday\, May 6th 1-2:30pm\n\nMulti-lingual closed captioning is available for this event. DESCRIPTION:Listen\n        \n        [vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text css=””]\nThe Regional Family Support Planning Council’s Charting the LifeCourse Action Group is dedicated to supporting families to achieve the best outcomes for their loved ones with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities by: \n• Learning strategies to effectively advocate in IEP and ISP meetings\, community settings\, and recreational activities.\n• Hearing from families like yours who have effectively advocated for their loved ones.\n• Accessing tools that support families to develop and effectively articulate a vision for their loved ones.\n• Creating a plan of supports that is person-centered for both children and adults and focused on real outcomes.\n• Developing strategies for following up and accountability. \nThis event is appropriate for families with loved ones with disabilities from childhood through adulthood to be effective advocates. \nMulti-lingual closed captioning is available for this event.
